Landa, D. 1982 Journal Mexico Aug. 27 The return hike was a quick up the SW slope. For one thing, we headed toward the very skinny tower (we we hadn't seen before) so we were off in our direction. A good transect might be one that follows the power lines to the station. A swathe has been cut all along the way. Returned weary, wet, and worn to Jalapa. Exploration and transects are fun but land and time consuming. Aug. 28 Had breakfast in Jalapa and left for Tezuitlan via Auyos. 140 & 131. There is a short cut from 140 to 131 just east of Coroto. We looked for a hotel in Tezuitlan with no luck. Earlier we had stopped back thru La Joya to check with Jose and the rest of the guide to see if they had collected any "grandes" or "verdes".
