(8) 10 large P. depressa on side of canyon. Larger trees, oaks dominant, yewes mixed in. - 2770 m. (9) Steep cliffs - possible caves - 2800 m Climbed around right side and up. (10) (Almost all oak, very few yews, very rocky (ladders, granite)-2880m. (11) 2900 m. - open field, towers in plain sight. Return down to car in a short time. ~3 hours to hike up ~ 1/2 hour to return down Transect # 2 We returned up to the new station and hiked down the SW facing slopes where we found Chiops yesterday. (see map) (1) 3020 m - Chiops, found 26 Aug. (2) 2980 m - twig locked buds? / Chiops? (3) 2960 m. - 2 ? Chiops, + 1 P. depressa (4) yes, lots of fallen logs, large pines, short, scrubby oaks.
