anda, D. 1982 Journal Mexico Aug. 27 Today was the big exploration day around the Las Vegas microwave towers. Transect #1 map Hwy. 140 Jadaga Los Vegas 3 km. 0.8 km. fields canyon of transect #1 park car N towers microwave road (14.4 km.) Bacant of north facing slope to microwave towers out of Las Vegas. Drive off the main highway (140) toward the station. This dirt road/trail leads toward the towers. We drove as far as possible and walked to the base of the canyon. (1) car parked at 2565 m. (2) Base of ravine - short climb at 2620 m. No landslide, mostly scree with a few oaks and a few pines. (3) 4 P. depressa under rocks - 2640 m. (4) Pine trees more abundant 2700 m. (5) P. cephalica on ridge between ravines at 2715 m. Small pines become thick, small oaks here & there.
