Danda, D. 1982 Journal To Xamella 43 km. La Berda duck -> -> To Origada ~ 9 km. Morice Aug. 24 The area around Xanella was quite cut-over. Much lumbering and clearing for fields had occurred since Stan's last trip in 1974. The remaining forests were mostly pine. The area was fairly wet but not soaked. Many downed, rotten pine logs were around to be dropped into. Also many wood chips to look under. We found 12 Pseudosunges, most in the wood of rotten logs and stumps and a couple under wood chips. The large animals were brownish and fairly slender. The small ones tended toward reddish-brown. Stan and I are unsure of the species. There were some poor looking Grenulade, but no Chirigos in the area we covered. Also, no Florios, and two species need to be here. The drive between La Berda and Xanella was about 2 hrs.
