Aug 23. Dry although the land slides had quite
a bit of water in them. We worked
the area we had worked before - a
north facing slope east of the road.
We then explored the area beyond
the end of the road. Again, many
wet landslides, but no Chiripes. The
Tlaxines were found in rotten logs.
Returned to Orizaba in a heavy rain.
Ate at the Hotel de France on the
main street. We had stayed here the
year before. The waiter seemed to
remember us. They are really friendly.
Had a great meal and a couple of
Negra Modellos. The meals are still
about the same price in pesos, so we
are eating well with our dollar
currency.
It is so nice to return
to Mexico and especially those places
like the Hotel de France. If I
could speak the language, it would
add so much. Having fun with Dan.
So much more relaxed than with
Dave Waldo. Looks like a good trip!
Aug 24
Dan and I got up early and
skipped breakfast so as to allow
plenty of time to get to Xonotla.
