anda, D. 1982 Journal Ensatina - Wakes Cabin Feb. 5 Left Berkeley ~ 2:00 P. with Ron Marlow in the Museum 4-wheel drive Blazer. We went thru Orinda and picked up Kay Yanev and her 1 year old son Alexander. We then drove via routes 4, 160, 12, and 4 again to Wake's cabin near Dorrington, CA in Calaveras County. We arrived at ~8:00P. Snow was quite deep around Dorrington (~3ft.), and we (Ron) had to shovel a path from the road to the cabin. After opening the cabin and starting a fire, we had dinner and wine, talked, and went to bed. It got quite cold at night (below freezing). Feb. 6 Ate up and had breakfast before checking the trap lines. We left the cabin at mid-morning. We first checked line #3, 0.8 of mile north of Avery. This line was under much snow, and we determined it to be a waste of time at this time. We then went to lines 7 and 7A above Hunter Reservoir. On line 7, we found a galatensis in trap 18 and a "galatensis" with new spots in trap 21. The road back to the area was quite bad
