DRT ROAD 14.5 km. 16.5 -----> ORIZABA CUOTA EXIT <--- to Puebla Max. Hwy. 150 D OVERPASS #57 OVERPASS #56 MALTARATA ---> to Orizaba Dtar and I explored the El Berro area from about 9:00 A. to 1:00 P. We actually found little good forest to work. Much clearing and farming is done here. It is however a beautiful area and well worth a stop just for the sight. We found a valley (apparently an old lake-bed ) [illegible] just north of the town. There is a beautiful waterfall and cave in the middle of the valley. We also circled further to the west and north of El Berro toward the distant Pico de Orizaba. We did find some fir-oak-pine woods to work. A few [illegible] fairly dry broadleaf rivers to be found. Spectacular and also serene scenery. Locality here: Near El Berro, 15 km. N off of Max. Hwy 150 D by dirt road 15.5 km. W of Maltarata, Veracruz, Mexico
