Janda, D. 1981 Journal Mexico Oct.30 We processed the animals and ate supper at "Bandonos". Packed stuff for Dave's and Jim's departures. Dave took all animals but just a few Bacndu to be preserved. Called and talked to my parents. Oct.31 Up at ~ 5:00 A. to get Dave to the Mex. City airport. Said goodbye to Jim who was flying out later that morning. Got to the airport at ~ 6:30 A., after leaving the hotel at ~ 5:45 A. - pretty quick, little traffic. Dave boarded at ~ 7:30 A. and took off at ~ 8:00 A. Duke Rogers arrived from Berkeley at ~ 8:00 A.. He is to join me for the last ~ 10 days of the trip. We left the airport after a small hassle over Duke's liquid nitrogen tanks and after confirming our flights out of Mexico and many exchange. Left airport at ~ 11:00 A. and drove toward Puebla on Hwy. Hwy, 190. We stopped at ~ 12:30 P. at Rio Frias to get gas and look for Chiropterus [illegible]. We first went 2.8 km. east of Rio Frias but found the area dry and lacking cover. I spent only about 10 min. here. Weather drove west out of Rio Frias on old Hwy. 190 for 22.4 km. without finding really any good looking collecting
