Bill Avey - Journal Sept 24. Labor day wk end. Bryant property in Trinity Wilderness area, Trinity Co Calif. - Approx 15 miles SW of Callahan Calif. Approx 6300 feet +/-500 feet. The area is on a S facing slope which falls into Jangle Blue Canyon. The Slope is about 20°. Small creek fall through gorges from Mosquito Lake, Marshlakes, etc to Jangle Blue Canyon. The area is forested in Cedar, Yellow, Lodgepole Sugar, and White Pines, Douglas fir further down, and white fir. It appears to have been logged once leaving large Cedars, but some very large yellow and Sugar pines remains. In the clearing is much huckleberry oak some Manzanita. We went out hunting at about 8:30 AM, collected, 1 creeper, 2 hermit warblers, 1 dusky grouse, and 1 junco. We have seen in this area Nashville warblers, Audubon's warbler, Black throated grey, flickers, Hairy woodpige, white headed WPs, green tailed towhees. Went up to Mosquito lake 4:30 PM. Jim shot 2 fox sparrows, 1 junco? imm., 2 warblers, - As I climbed rocky Mt'n beyond the lake saw rock arena, 1 Marsh-hawk flying very high, 1 redtail
