Bill Amey Journal 1965 Nov. 18 Truro. Peter Ames & I start at 10AM for Dillon Beach in Marin Co. Day with scattered rain clouds. It has been raining regularly for about a week previously, this is about the clearest day in that amount of time. At Dillon Beach we have to cross the Lawson property down to a boat landing. At the landing we start down the beach towards Tomales Bay. Along here are seen large numbers of Snowy Plover running along the upper tide flats. A few of these are collected. On the water line many Sandpipers and Dunlin, and a few W. Sandpipers are seen. Godwits, Marbled [illegible] and Black bellied Plover are seen in bunches of a few individuals. In the grass behind the bay are hundreds of Crest and many more can be seen in the water. Scoters and Biddy ducks dabble offshore. Cormorants can be seen far out. Willets are seen.
