1965 Bill Arney Journal Oct 6 the water and commence bathing. We can see no special central tail feather on these. They are both light breasted and have buffy-dark chest bands coming around the front. Bathing is very exaggerated in this bird, he lifts his head way out of the water, then plunges it down hard.
