July 31 Pt. Lobas
10^10 2 birds seen holding wings out in drying position,
is held for more than 10 seconds.
10^11 Another bird standing to the left of (1) hasn't committed
himself to the nest now flies away. Next 2, one young
is feeding, head disappears in gullet for 10 seconds or so.
10^12 - 2- new parent stands erect, flutters gulew area.
10^13 3- adult still standing w back toward us.
2- adult threatens wandering bird.
10^15 Sounds of squawking goes through out colony.
Definite cormorant sounds not heard.
10^16 a turnstone works thru the triangle, jabbing, picking
for flies, or perhaps bird or fish remains.
Cormorants make their ways freely through this
triangle, as it seems to be a pathway to the upper
rocks.
10^17 - 2- adults is picking at the sides of the nest, probably
rearranging the seaweeds.
The 3 turnstones are in the immediate area of the triangle.
10^18 young in 2 flutters gulew area. 5 birds are standing
in vicinity of (1), apparently none belongs to it.
10^19 one young leaps in (2)
10^22 - all adults seen preening.
10^22-2- young standing upright, there are 2 definitely.
One of the young has mouth wide open, gulew fluttering.
