Arnold 1957 N.V.Z. Berkeley, Calif. Nov. 13 the trails were covered twice, starting at "H" to "B" then over to "C" then Back to "H." One interesting feature was that I saw a Anna Hummingbird doing "courting dives" on the north hillside. It dove twice from an elevation of about 30 feet. After the second dive it flew off over the hill after another bird - probably a female. The Scolophorus were still out on the north hillside. Although I saw only two small ones out running around I turned over a small rock and frightened an adult. Whether or not this lizard was "bedded up" for the winter or not I can not tell.
