D. Anderson 1956 Ambystoma macrodactylum croceum Markings June 21 Valencia Gorgeon, Rio del Mar, Santa Cruz Co., Calif. # 12 1 june RF3 LF 4, SV 40 mm tail 39. found under mat of vegetation. In shallow depression in mud. just S of 2nd stand of Tulip(?) & E of large willow. Temp. under mat at surface of mud 58°F. Temp on top of mat (loosly shaded) 62°F. (recently dried up area) #13+14. Under small, wet, rotting log. 2 ft from 2nd Tulip(?) clump. Water recently dried up (small lizards present), cool & shaded, 2" mud under log. #15. Under log (36" long, 6" diam.) in shade of the large willow tree. Lots of willow leaves & twigs about temp. under log. 47°F.; air temp under willow 42°F. #16. Under veg. mat 20 yds due S of large willow. #17 same as above. #18 same
