Ambystoma immaculatum crucinum
28
Mar. 16 Valencia lagoon, Rio del Mar, Santa Cruz Co., Calif.
obtained by sweeping the net along the bottom,
without digging into the litter on the bottom in water
from 5"- 8" deep + in the vicinity of a clump of
(Juncus?) barren vegetation (but not in the clump).
As a rule more were taken where Hyla. was
most abundant (shallower water). Water temp. 54° F.
Air temp. 65° F. The sun was shining brightly.
This end of lagoon is also best lighted.
Again we found no Taricha here but
found it abundant in San Mateo Santa Clara
Counties.
