Ambystoma macrodactylum croceum
Mar 16. Valencia Lagoon, Rio del Mar, Santa Cruz Co., Calif.
Searched for larvae along the fringes of Valencia lagoon.
45 min. spent at S W & West edges with no luck. Scope
were made with a long handled dip net. The S edge of
lagoon was heavily choked with cattail.
The W edge with . Water was quite deep
all along W side with only a little (2-6ft)
of shallow water near the road (Bonita Rd.). The
heavy vegetation lagoon after this & extended out 10 or
far as 40 ft. Many Hyla tadpoles found at S end
but few along W side. Water 2-2 ½ ft deep all
along fringe of on W side. At the NW &
N end of lagoon the inhabited lagoon to look more
barrenish. There were long stretches of shallow
