J.D. Anderson 1959 Journal Feb. 14 Valencia Lagoon, Rio del Mar, vicinity Santa Cruz Ca., Calif. every - but recent rain + runoff makes water so muddy that it is impossible to see even 1" into water. 1 hour dip netting = 4 tigerium larvae. Saw + collected some small Hydra tadpoles + some newly hatched Rana aurora tadpoles. Worked the willow area turning logs - got 6 adult G. m. croceum. At 4:30 returned to Valencia Lagoon + worked Oak Woods turning logs for 3/4 hour. Saw 5-6 Butrachoepe + 1 Ensatina. Ate supper with Chuck Hayes in Rio del Mar. Returned to Valencia at 7:45 pm + walked wood with Coleman Benton 8 - 9:30 pm. Got 2 ad O'croceum moving from breeding pond towards oak woods. Sky cloudy, no rain. Rel. Humidity 92%. Drove to see the "New Tiger Pond" + worked it until 10:45. No lurb. H. regilla in strong chorus. Many clear's pairs seen. No tiger salamanders. Left for home at 11:30 pm. Arrived Albany about 1:30 pm.
