Out to Rio del Mar, arriving at 2 pm. Sky cloudy, had rained on Jan. 9. No rain now but weather forecast had predicted it for tonight. Water extends from willows on east to the small isolated willow on west - just a few yards short of maximum size of last year. Worked all around edge of pond looking for eggs but found none. The water is very muddy & visibilty is poor. Used dip net along fringes but found nothing. At approx. 3:15 we drove towards the Elliott locality. Stopped at the small tigrinum pond near Elliot - 1 mi NW Elliot RR Sta., 4 mi. W. Watsonville, Santa Cruz Co., Calif. Checked under logs & boards here for tigrinum but were not successful.
