D Anderson 1956 Journal Apr 14 Valeria Yagoon, Pir del Mar, Santa Cruz Co. Gulf A.m. croceum. ( ). Its head was crushed over the eyes. Still living however. It blended in with dried oak leaves in a wonderful way. Really difficult to spot. 8:15 a june (37mm SV) marked (RF1LF4) released 35 paces before storage on rd (LVM Castle Oaks). It secreted a fluid or tail very much like Enartina. Another June at 8:31 on rd opposite large Dog Fri which is a few paces down the road from an unidentif'ied house (no name) (3rd home salary Rd.) F 36mm SV, tail recently broken 16mm from vent - just would start its regenerative growth as yet. Rest of Road check produced further Ambystoma... Had been scurrying lights while hunt. Finished check at 9:15. Rel. Albendone of Amphib'orum Rd. Ambystoma - 2 1 3 Enartina - 4 2 6 Anecidor - 1 0 1 Batrachops - 4 4 Hyla 3 3 many large slugs, snails & millipeds & some could be left alive. At 9:18 we began another check of the San Anecho Rd to Sunset Beach. Took about 30 min. Saw only 1 Hyla & 1 Enartina... Hyla in chorus all along Rd. Road seems dry... Returned home via 17 Santa Cruz to So. Mateo, 9 from So. Mateo to Sunny Vale & Bayshore freeway to Bay Bridge & then to Berkeley. Left North Shore Cuy at 12:15 - home at 1:35. I homedown. Wow!!
