Set out 12 funnel traps along edge (see Map April 26) of pond where I have been measuring larvae. A grid set up with traps 5 paces apart parallel to shore line and beginning's 5 yds from shore. [illegible] shore Eleothan 10 3 4 5 7 8 9 11 12 set up complete at 1:30 pm. (PST). Checked at 5:30 pm - no salamanders. Checked again at 9:30 pm - 1 A.m. croceum larva in Trap # 9. April 27 Checked traps just after [illegible] sun on pond/ dawn at 6:30 am (PST). - 1 larva in trap # 5. This 52 mm in tot. length. marked - LF leg cut off, a notch put in dorsal tail fin little behind hind hibs. Jarva in trap # 9 had escaped. Made a quick check of traps at 8:30. No salamanders. Trial check & pick up at 1:30. 1 croceum larva in trap # 2.
