Combsor 1958 Amblyptera m. croceum Jan 24 '12 mi NW Elliot R R Sta, 4 mi W Waterville, Santa Cruz Co, Cal. set in the two deep funur which run the length of the pond. 8 in funor #1, 2 in funour #2. 6 ? ? taken from Trap # 1 (large trap) all in prime brood's condition. In 6" of water, trap on bottom looked well dead Eleochrosi + new shoot. Cl. temps. 10.2, 10.2, 10.4. Temp of water at trap level. 1/2 " from bottom 10.2 o.c. Trap # 5 had 1 od. ? croceum, cl. temp. 60.2 o.c. Trap # 2 in funour #2 had 2 od. ? A. tigrinum + 1 od ? croceum. all three were uncoative + looked dead. On removal they had no righting reaction. After 10 min. all 3 showed feeble gular pulsation + 3 mini hops all 3 revived. They may have come close to drowning since trap was under water but probably knocked selves out with presson suction. Worsh them thorughly upon removal. Interesting that all Amblyptera were ?? that they tended to aggregate.
