Mr. Edwards is on vacation. Got permission to do night work at Elliott Pond from his caretaker. This man told me of a pond along Green Valley Rd (near Freedom) where he used to catch salamander larvae by hooks while fishing (could be A. tigrinum). Ate at Red Don Inn, then wrote notes until dark. Worked Elliott Pond edge & willow area with Coleman lantern from 8:10 pm to 9:40 pm. Sky clear, stars bright. Moon came up about 9:15 pm. Hyla regilla juveniles were hopping about in Elkhorn's & under willows - very abundant. Rana canosa juveniles out also but only a few individuals seen. Air temp 1" above surface of ground 15.6°C. Mydriacraea wanderaing about at edge of willows - about 30 yds from edge of pond area. Left for home at 10 pm. Traffic heavy from San Mateo on. Arrived MVZ about 12:30 am.
