J D. Anderson 1958 Journal Aug 20 Trip to Mogiuto Lake, 8000ft, 2 mi. w. footbnt Peak. Alpine C. Cold abundant here as in Pond #2. Tom McFitzg collected a nice series from pond #4. He said that the larvae were extremely abundant there & that tadpoles of R. muscosa were more common than in other ponds. I found more muscosa larvae in pond #2 then in 1953. However adult R. muscosa were most common along shores of Pond #1. Again we found no adult Hylo regilla & saw very few regilla larvae. The day was warm, bright & extremely clear. Saw 1 Thamnophis e. elegans in pond #1, no other. Left about 4:32 pm hocked for home. Ate in Angels Camp. After return via same route & a stop at MVZ I arrived home at 11:07 pm.
