J.D. Anderson 1958 Journal Aug 6 Mooquits Lake, 8020ft., 3mi. W. Lookout Peak, Alpine Co. Left this spot at 6:30 pm. We made several stops for collecting between Moo Lake & Camp Cornell. Stayed up at Camp Cornell. Left at about 9 pm. Drove home by same route. Stopped 3 times to call for screech owl. Got only 1 answer but did not get the bird. Also drove rather slowly, looking for snakes in foothills. Got just 1 Buffo boxer at 3 mi. W. Copperopolis, Calaveras Co., no snakes. Saw 4 Horned Larks on route. 1 Gray Fox crossed the road. Dipodomys & Perognathus out in good numbers. Warm night with no rain. Arrived at MVZ 1:50 am. Home by 2:15 am, 24 hours after leaving. Aug 7.
