April 26 Valencia Lago, Rio del Mar, Santa Cruz Co., Calif
Had much more trouble than usual getting sample.
Perhaps because I was using smaller dip net. Took
3 hrs. to get 5 trigenium + 4 cucum. The trigenium
are really big now. Drove back to Valencia
to check traps at 5:30. No salamanders. Checked
traps again at 9:30 and got 1 larval A.m.cucum.
April 27 Slept in car. Up at 6. Checked traps at 6:30
and found an additional cucum larvae.
Worked oak woods looking for adults with no
success. Then drove towards Watsonville
along both roads hoping to find a new
locality or find Taniichu localities. Drew
blank on both. Returned to Valencia at
1:30 to check and pick up traps, got complete
larvae. Do the traps do work. Left for home
about 1:45 - arrived along ca 4:00 pm.
