March 19 Valencia Fagoon, Rio del Mar, Santa Cruz Co., Calif.
croccean + viginium. Till larvae taken in water
traps from 10-21" deep & where there are growing
shoots of Elbocharis at 4:30 pm I drove
back to Valencia to check & take in the
water traps. No Amblystoma again!! They
are so small that they are not yet actively
wandering about (in my opinion). Left Valencia
at 5:15 pm. Ate supper at Red Door &
drove home.
March 21 Valencia Fagoon, Rio del Mar, Santa Cruz Co., Calif.
Heavy rain last night (March 20) & heavy shower
21st in Bay Area so I left for Valencia 3 pm.
Arrived at fagoon 6 pm after stop for supper.
Hyla chorus just getting underway. Rain light
but steady now. Made 1 good check at dark -
skys still light. 6:15-6:30 saw nothing at
all. Next check 6:45-7:05 sky almost dark,
rain letting up. Saw 39 Hyla + 00 Amblystoma.

Rain stop -> 4th 7:20-7:50 Hill Nothing - dark
5th 8-8:15 Bonita 19 Ame. 5 Hyla.
6th 8:35-8:50 " 7 Hyla
Rain -> 7th 8:55-9:20 Hill Nothing
8th 9:20-9:40 Bonita 4 Hyla, 1 jnr. Ensatina
