Dec 19 Valeria Fagon, Rio del Mar, Santa Cruz Co., Calif.
V.L. at 5:30. Sky cleaning - no rain. Checked roads between 5:40 & 8:45. No luck at all. Made 4 round trips to spring, 2 to garage v1 on hill road. Saw only 1 Bahochaepa & 3 Hyila. However Hyila were calling until 7:30 pm. Sky became very clear. Star out - etc. Temp. 1/4" above bd at 7pm 6.5°C, at 8pm 5.9°C. Soil temp. 6.0°C. Temp 3ft aboved. 6.0°C.
Left at 9 pm & went out to la delva. Found 2 of A.m. proceem in trap #1. Nothing in other trap. Had been working here 15 min. when I was chased out by 3 large Cougar bowls
Water here is much as described in Journal for Dec. 15. Slightly more extensive & a little deeper - deepest spot 7" & rest 5".
Left at 9:30 & arrived home 11:30 pm
