Aldrich 1938 21 38-177 Gray Vireo's nest + 4 eggs in Artemisia tridentata ht. of nest 2 7/8" Depth of outside of nest 2 3/8" Inside depth 2" Inside width 1 7/8" Outside width 2 3/8" Materials are: on outside, mostly shredded bark (thin) of Artemisia & other bushes. Inside lined with extremely fine grass + one feather. About 3 spider egg-cases on outside. Eggs are fresh & appear light pinkish-buff spotted with ruddish-brown more about the larger end. Bird unwary; I will sit for picture. Superan; f 22 - 4/5ths sec.
