Tail + very little on th back.
June 6,
Mt. Harrison
Did some Skinning in the
morning + set and 4 sets of
gophy traps. Numerous of their
Earths cores were present that such
mounds occuring after the melted
snow were difficult to find. Looked
for bide th rest of the day.
June 7.
Mt. Harrison
This morning we again hiked
to the South ridge below the Mt.
with the hope of getting some
more of these squirrels collected
day before yesterday. They seemed
very wary today + only 4 were
seen. After hunting a couple of
hours we started out for Lake
Cleveland that lay at the N base
of Mt. Harrison in a Cirque. Snow
was at least 10 ft. deep in
places along the way + much
fun was had "glissading." Region
around lake was covered with
Lodge-Pole Pine, Red Fir + Timber
Pine (Pinus flexilis); a few Junipers
communis were also seen in
scrubby form. Driving back to
we did some Skinning before
