I mi S Melba Canyon Co Idaho.
Collected traps at sunrise that
had been set last night in the
sage-rocky hillside mes groups.
Caught 7 O'm. consciences + 5 Neotoma
(Sp?). We put up skins until
about 12:30 + then Bill went
back across the river to hunt
squirrels + Gopher. He got
a couple prongus + one Censador.
Howard + I went hunting for
Marmots + O idahoensis in
the hills + Butte just S of
Camp. Howard got 6 squirrels
+ one medium sized Marmot
with 16 ga. Shotgun + I got one
large + small Marmot. Curied
all night long + fun watching
lightning bolts. Wing below gate.
Neatoma (Sp?) - While looking
for Marmots I found one
of the mouse traps I set this
morning. The trap was 8 ft.
avay from where it had been
set. I had an adult female
Wood Rat in it + dead. The
sat was at the entrance of
its nest underneath a sock +
one of the yng. was suckling
the dead body; certainly a
pathetic sight. Another one was
near + squeeking + I could
hear others in the nest in the
socks. With difficulty + got
