Ulrich 30 27 5 mi. S.E. Murphys, Howard got 164 29 with shot gun + I failed with .22. They are exceedingly wary & if disturbed will not come above ground for fully 1/4 hr. Quality of their notes was identical with those heard on May 23, 3 mi. E. Sinker Cr.) but didn't appear to be in two syllables. Out of 27 counts of the time interval between squeaks, I found it to average 10 seconds (not solitary-same for all individuals heard) Colonial mounds were huge being about 10 ft. in dia. & but 16 in. high. Sometimes 12 holes came out of one mount but more once out on the very top of the mound. They come out horizontally on the sides. The top was lessly covered in due to the "magg" of holes directly beneath. As many as 3 individuals were seen (or the at once. Sometimes they were seen atop an Atkshy bush in Cicket pin fashion (15' high) May 26. 5 mi. S.E. Murphys, Owyhee Co., Idaho. Skinned Squirrels & Chipos" until 2:30. Went to the Gifford ranch again & worked on Leusodons Bill
