for P. crinitus.
Had huge meal of Quail, Marmot
& Cottontail.
May 19.
2 mi. E. Hagerman Twin Falls-
Gooding Co. Idaho.
Collected trap line little after
sun up. Only got one P. m. (lighter
colored than usual). I presume
crinitus isn't here because of
lack of sufficient rocky conditions.
Finished the mouse skin + the
Marmot, which required 5 hrs.
of scraping (fat). Went to
photograph the pheasants nest
+ got large jack Rabbit on
way. The♀ pheasant (Ring-n.)
fledged when I was but 6 ft.
from the nest + flew 35 yds.
out of sight. The eggs still
were 15 in no. + were dull olive-
brown in color. The parent wasn't
seen again.
Nearby in the tule I heard a
short series of squawk-like
notes which was probably a Rail.
