Howard shot a Sharp-shinned
Hawk but couldn't find it,
in Willows. Looking up
towards dam I saw what
I thought was large gull, but
that gloom could make out
Tail bands, which we concluded
was Osprey. Later we saw
B. Davis & Mr confirmed our
observations. We climbed
out of canyon & set traps
line at the summit. Spotted
a Marmot I shot in morning.
It was a yqg. of the year.
by now (12 hrs. later) it was
duffed up like a drum.
Wind was cold + strong tonight
+ so put Owl in sack for
