Salmon Cr Reservoir, Twin Falls Co, Idaho.
Weather most always cold &
very windy; patchy Cumulus clouds.
Collected the trap line at sunup &
spent most putting up specimens.
In late afternoon went over to
East of Camp where to a "Shelf
Cliff" and hunted Rabbits. I
flushed four Sage Pines (2 pr.)
about 40 yds. in front of me.
They flew low & with a loud
a noise of their wings they
went out of sight over a little
rise in the terrain. Attempting
to flush them again yielded
no results. This was new on
my "Life List". Come back to
camp & set out traps till dark.
Bill had returned from below
the dam in the fry-canyon. He
brought with him a young Flamed
Owl nearly adult size yet much
light-colored down still present. It
had fallen from its nest a good
many feet above on the ledge.
When I almost dark 2 Common Goons
were heard giving their maniacal
laughing calls far over the lake.
Birds for today:
Mourning Dove 2
Lark Sparrow 15 ±
Vesper ":" 6±
Cliff Swallow many
Raven 2
White-throated Swift 3
