Cowwill Canyon Wren May 13 Salmon Cr. 8 mi. W. Rodgers, Twin Falls Co., Idaho Patchy cumulus clouds nearly all day and a cold breeze. Spent most of day hunting Marmots on tolas Slope. Saw as many as 7 at one time. Many of the ymg of the year came within 8 ft.; fatally stills yielded but one young (385 mm) Their barking sounded similar to Calif. Ground Squirrels but louder and lower in pitch. Returned to camp & did some skinning. Then went to hunt for Marmots again, but shade was on the tolas slope & they were in for the night. While looking west from a vantage point, I marvel marvel at the largeness of this relatively barren bypanse. An occasional Utah Snipe was seen
