May 6, 1942. 3661 ♀ Sage Grouse lone individual shot at 7:25 A.M. wt. 2 lbs. 5½ ozs.: Total length, 21 inches; Tail, 7 inches; wingspread, 31½ inches.: Largest ovum = 4-mm dia., 4-mm dia., 3.5 mm diameter. No feathers on breast (brood patch) area about 5½ inches long along breast bone and 3½ inches wide 1 mi. W mouth of Cottonwood Cr., W side Toiyabe Range, Nye Co., Nevada. Largest ovum 32-mm dia., 25 mm dia., 23 mm dia., 14-mm diameter. Soft shell egg 53 mm long and 35-mm wide. Small area about 3 inches long and 2 inches wide, near tip of breast bone, without feathers.
