J.R. Alcorn
1943.
Itinerary
Thursday, March 11, 1943.
Looked at the traps that were
set on the open “weedy” slope and
catched numerous Peromyscus,
Reithrodonmys and Microtius.
Also caught one wood rat in
the timbered area along with
three Peromyscus. One Skunk and
one Opossium in the steel traps.
After preparing specimens all day
Hubert Hall and I drove to the
timbered slope 9 mi. SE of Pátzcuaro
and there I set 35 more
mouse traps where the Pine
trees were large and numerous.
The 45 mouse traps were left
on the “weedy” slope where no
trees are growing. In this
timbered slope I saw one Cottontail
rabbit. I also set two steel traps
for Skunks. Four gopher traps
were set in a corn field
5 mi. S of Pátzcuaro.
