1943.
Itinerary
Tuesday March 9, 1943.
Caught fewer mammals this
morning. I moved the mouse
traps northward about 1/4 mile
and set them along a fence
and along the edge of the forest
and corn fields. Also took up
most of the skunk traps and
re-set them over a larger area.
Wednesday March 10, 1943.
Hubert Hall and I drove to a location
about 9 mi. SE of Patzcuaro and there
I set 45 mouse traps on a slope
that was barren of trees but
much short vegetation occurred
on this slope. Small mammal
runways were seen here and the traps
were set in these. Forests of Pine are
nearby and in among the Pine
I set additional traps for skunks,
woodrats and 3 mouse traps
were also set here. Did not catch
many mammals last night in
the mouse traps.
