J.R. Alcorn
1943
Itinerary
3 mi. NNW Patzcuaro, 6700 ft., Michoacan
Monday Sunday March 7, 1943.
Visited the traps this morning and
found about 50 of them had been
stolen by someone. We all traveled
along the highway to a point 5 miles
south of Patzcuaro and here we I
set out traps along a pole fence
and around the edge of a corn
field. Many gopher mounds were
seen in this vicinity
Monday March 8, 1943.
This morning I found many
small mammals in the traps
that were set near the fence.
Few were taken along the
edge of the corn field. Shunk
traps are abundant in
all localities. I set eight
traps for shunks along near
the road.
