1943.
Itinerary
3 mi. NNW Patzcuaro, 6700 ft., Michoacan
Friday March 5, 1943
I visited the traps that were set
on the grass slope and caught
only a few specimens, (See Catalog).
These specimens were prepared and
late this afternoon we drove
to a hill 2 1/2 miles west of
Patzcuaro. There in a cave we
captured 4 bats and I set
75 traps on a slope where
pine and oak trees were
abundant. Much "underbrush"
was present in the area.
Saturday March 6, 1943.
Visited the traps this morning
and caught only three mice.
Left the traps out and this
afternoon I set 60 more mouse
traps, 18 rat traps and 3 no.
2 victor steel traps. These were
set on an open slope that
was in a cultivated area
about 1/4 mile from the traps
that were set in the oak + pine.
