Itinerary
Friday, February 26, 1943.
This morning we contacted
numerous persons in an attempt
to get ourselves and equipment
into Mexico from Laredo, Texas.
We succeeded in crossing the
bridge and with necessary
papers in hand we left
Nuevo Laredo, Mexico and drove
southward to Monterrey, Nuevo
Leon, Mexico. Carts and other
implements drawn by oxen were
seen between Nuevo Laredo and
Monterrey. Small carts, laden with
fire wood, milk cans and other
material, and drawn by donkeys
(one to four) were also a familiar
sight along the highway. One Coyote
was seen to cross the road in
front of the autos and many goats
domestic were seen along the highway.
Numerous domestic cattle were also
seen scattered along the road. They
were usually seen feeding on the
green grass near the road.
