J.R. Aleorn 1943 Itinerary Feb. 21, 1943 Sunday. We traveled through Brawley and El Centro, California and crossed the Colorado River into Arizona at Yuma. From Yuma we traveled through Gila Bend, Casa Grande and stopped for the night about 25 miles west of Tucson. It rained on us last night but it was not raining when we prepared breakfast. It did not rain during the day. We had a very comfortable day in traveling 302 miles. All of the persons in the group continue in good health and "spirits". We passed through forests of giant Saguaro cactus. After we stopped this evening several coyotes were heard yapping. These Saguaro forests were located about 52 miles west of Casa Grande.
