with only two days
freedom each week.
July 6 Went out with Mr
Kitchin - to the swamp
(the only one in West Fresh)
and found several
trails nests, all with fresh
eggs or building but
left them all. Found
another set of pine
fresh Warwing. The
bird sat with lowered
crest within 6 feet then
flew a short distance
showing more solicitude
than the previous bird
observed. The pair seem
gluey together and both
birds stayed about the
nest. There was another
pair building close by.
Somehow I got an awful
"kick" out of finding
Warwings nests.
Blew all eggs successfully
and returned to camp.
July 7 Was room orderly
today so had to stay
in quarters - and
write letters.
