Nest: behind loose piece
of bark on a 4" dead
oak tree. Nest material
showed below bark.
lower nest of coarse sticks
and bark shreds, upper
part of moss- cup or
pocket lined with feathers.
Whole nest plastered to
trunk. Eggs well protected
in pocket. Entrance to
the nest from above
than a crack in the
bark. Bird flushed on
hitting tree, then came
every close and stayed
about. Nest 10' up.
