(3) N. California Creeper Date: June 22, 1924 Incb: fresh local: Tacoma Pierce Co. Wash. Set Mark 3W/6 Nest: behind loose piece of bark on a 4" dead oak tree. Nest material showed below bark. lower nest of coarse sticks and bark shreds, upper part of moss- cup or pocket lined with feathers. Whole nest plastered to trunk. Eggs well protected in pocket. Entrance to the nest from above than a crack in the bark. Bird flushed on hitting tree, then came every close and stayed about. Nest 10' up. Coll by: Alden B. Miller for JB (4) N.
