(3) Bowles says they nest all along the Sound, on the Islands and mainland alike. He says in one place they nest in burrows in a clay bank but that the clay has hardened and become as rock. The birds still use the same holes year after year. The rock has been hard for some twenty years that we knock off. The main attraction at the Park was the zoo which harbored several things of interest. We have in captivity about a dozen wild geese from the vicinity. Three species - the Canada, Hutchins and Whitefronted. The geese were in exceptionally good plumage for summer and we had a very close and profitable study of the bird. Also there was a pair of Spectacled Seal in captivity which throws some doubt on Browns record.
