"Pygmy Owl" note which brought the usual glock of small birds, Prince's Knights, Busrilts, Chickadees, Verna Greyls, etc. The Birds were much excited and came near. The Pygmies are here only in winter however. We left the forest and struck the care line after a long but interesting walk. The lay had cleared; the dust was laid and the mountain stood out clear and white above the green incensed fir forest. Spent the evening with Bowles and came out to camp late. After the 24th of August I shall be at Bowles and will spend a day or his collection; one on Browns another at Mt Defiance and another picking and shipping eggs. So I shall probably be busy
