We were headed for Paradise Valley elev. 5500 ft. We passed several celibrated falls which were pretty but rather ininsignificant compared with Yosemite. Soon we came to the meadow country near Timberline and arriving at Paradise Jew 5 1/2 miles from camp at 7 a.m. I made an effort to sitch the crowd and succeeded. I tramped around thru the meadow and the heath covered hill side. Many birds were present in fact the birds literally swarmed about. Jayceor Siskins some Fox Sparrow, Purple finch, Carolina Wren, and best of all Red-bird.
