do it successfully. While starting to eat my breakfast I dropped the butter off of my plate. Suddenly an Oregon Jay flew plumped [illegible] and proceeded to eat it. I at first looked him over. They are a gay then and try although they have as weak back and as blue. The flight is typical jay and the tail long and seems sort of split split in two. The bird came in poor plumage but nevertheless interesting. Soon several birds came around and I had quite a time feeding them. They were fairly quiet but very bold. The note songs do seem magical like those like magpie than jay. But they have a loud clear whistle which was did only by not I hear, this whistle was like certain Douglas Squirrel notes yet distinctive. I heard one start of on a clear warbling
