1731 R.L. Mumme Hermit Thrush Hastings Reservation 11 Jan Started 3 nets up at 0830, the two Big Creek water trough sets, plus the new 18 foot set by the small pool in the big willow thicket. The small pool is getting quite a bit smaller, and should be dry soon. No rain in over a month. Yesterday I wandered around up at the head of the Big School Hill Canyon. About 5 HTs were hanging around up there, all of course unbanded. Nets down 1230, only 2 Thrushes caught, both unbanded. Saw about 10 HTs down along the creek, all NB except 1-2 with metal only, right leg, and 1 DBlue Metal / ? Size I bands anyway, so it had to be either #20 or #22. Orange or Red. Still, do we have a nearly infinite # of HTs? March 22 Nancy reports seeing Yellow Metal / Yellow by the water trough along Big Creek
