All manner of moving around today, birds not staying put. 1000, o 29k chasing crows around some 1005 Dominance! -- both ?? fly to the rules west of the nest tree, tail-up wakes. *** ? 269 delivers a short but sharp peck to ?383. Makes very good sense!! ?486 chases ? intruder. o 294 chases crows. 1010, ?383 in nest, 1045. These guys are still harvesting acorns from PO Hill Live Oaks!! A very impressive acorn crop! Earlier, ? 269 in hole, visited by ?486 once again. Some of the birds harvesting acorns must be Finch, perhaps entirely. Flying along of PO Hill to Finch + back. 1110. Surprise, a 3rd Metal/? flew off toward Finch! Perhaps ?298 coming home. Near nest, next to ?? (383 in hole at time) everything seemed cool. Don't know who else it could have been. 1130. ?269 escorted to nest by o486 again, she enters. 1140. in hole together! 1150 end watch Back at 1530, Walter does the impossible and checks the nest. 2 eggs. Hot damn! All-morning watch coming up tomorrow! At roosting, one bird in the nest very late, ?? at the other three in last year's hole above. 19 April A truly astounding watch here today!!
